Sunny Yi

Mr. Sunny Yi is a Senior Global Director in Bain & Company, a global management strategy consulting firm with 50+ offices around the globe. He is the firm’s first Asian elected member of the Bain’s Board of Directors. He currently leads the Seoul office. He also served as an economic advisor to the President Park of Korea, and was a member of prestigious National Policy Advisory Committee member. He also served previous President Lee MB as an economic advisor. He has over 30 years of industry and consulting experience in transformation & change management, organization and leadership design in FS industries and prior to becoming the Seoul office head, he led Asia FS practice in 7 markets for Bain. Mr. Yi personally led and conducted over 500+ consulting assignments in US, EU and Asia, 11 large scale transformation work in Asia for Private Equity clients and 2 of the cases were highlighted in the Harvard Business School case studies. Mr. Yi is an author of 10+ best-selling management books in English, Korean, and Chinese languages, including Sales force management, Recruiting and managing Executives, Korea Discount I – Symptoms & Causes, Korea Discount II – Answers and Solutions, Transformation Management, Digital Management, and others. He is a frequently featured columnist and advisor for leading management journals, including Harvard Business Review and Wall Street Journal. He is also an advisor to a number of government agencies and regulatory bodies in Korea to include the Seoul Mayor office, Ministry of Energy, Financial Supervisory Service, and is a regular lecturer at KAIST, Yonsei and Seoul National University, and FKI. He was voted as one of the top 10 most influential management gurus in Korea (2010-2013) was awarded by the college student association of Korea as the best lecturer in the college campuses. He has an MBA from Harvard Business School, a MS in IT from University of Southern California, and a BS in aerospace engineering from West Point, US Military Academy, where we graduated top in his department.
