Triawan Munaf

Chairman of the Indonesia Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF)

Triawan Munaf, also known as a father of talented singer, Sherina Munaf, is the Chairman of the Indonesia Creative Economy Agency (BEKRAF), a government organization established especially to develop Indonesia’s creative industry and was part of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Established in early 2015, BEKRAF is dedicated to assist the President of Indonesia to set, coordinate and synchronize policies in Creative Economy.

Mr. Munaf was a former musician, a keyboardist and singer in the band named Giant Step, a progressive rock genre band from Bandung in the era 1970s. Mr. Munaf along with Indonesian artist (Anang Hermansyah and Iman Sastrosapton) established IM:PORT (importmusik.com), the portal to accommodate the work of copyright song derived from all communities regardless of their genre and status who are engaged in it. This Import Musik name was chosen by himself.

After no longer playing band, Mr. Munaf went into the field of advertising. He established Euro RSCG AdWork on December 26th 1989. One of his client is PDI Perjuangan Party, a preeminent political party in Indonesia. Its logo, the bull white snout, is one of Mr. Munaf masterpiece.

Moreover, he became active in politics. He is part of PDI Perjuangan Party cadres and was one of a successful team of Jokowi-Jusuf Kalla in the last presidential election as Head of Creative Team.
